Terms and Conditions

All members must agree to the below terms before joining.

 

Our club is governed by these bylaws.  I affirm that I have read NY World Runners' bylaws and understand their contents.

 

I understand that running, racing, cycling, swimming, social activities, and other activities in which the NY World Runners and its members participate, or that are sponsored or organized by NY World Runners and/or by representatives or members of NY World Runners, including any of the Released Parties listed below (collectively, NY World Runners   Activities), are activities with an inherent element of danger and risk. I agree not to enter and participate in any NY World Runners activity unless I am medically able and properly trained. I voluntarily assume sole responsibility for all risks associated with participating in NY World Runners activities, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, spectators or others, the effect of the weather, including heat and/or humidity, and traffic, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.

In consideration of your acceptance of my application to become a member of NY World Runners,

a) I, for myself and for anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive, release, and discharge NY World Runners and its members, sponsors, officers, website administrators and moderators, representatives, coaches, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, contributors to any blog contained on the NY World Runners Website (NY World Runners Blog), and contributors to the NY World Runners Website Bulletin Board (collectively, the Released Parties), from all claims or liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in or traveling to and from any NY World Runners   Activity;

b) I agree not to sue any of the Released Parties for any of the claims or liabilities that I have waived; and c) I indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims made or liabilities assessed against them as a result of my actions during any NY World Runners   activity even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.

c) I grant permission to the Released Parties to use or authorize others to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of my participation in any NY World Runners Activity for any legitimate purpose without remuneration.

d) When I take part in races or other organized athletic events, I will abide by the rules set forth by the organizers of those events. This includes refraining from transferring race numbers to an unregistered runner or running with someone else’s race number where that is prohibited. I understand that violation of this requirement is grounds for sanction by NY World Runners, up to and including my permanent dismissal from the team. I agree to abide by any decision of any official connected to any such event relative to my ability to safely complete the event.

I affirm that I have read this document, understand its contents, and agree to all conditions, terms, and notices therein.
